12 Stones Christian Academy Micro-school provides a comprehensive, Christ-centered academic program designed to promote strong foundational skills, critical thinking, creativity, character development, and a lifelong love of learning.
Core Academic Curriculum
Students receive instruction in reading and language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies using Alpha Omega Publications’ Horizons curriculum and other carefully selected instructional resources. Lessons are designed to provide academic rigor, structured skill development, and opportunities for individualized learning.
Bible and Christian Worldview
Biblical truth is integrated throughout the school day. Students participate in Bible study, prayer, Scripture learning, and character-development activities that help them understand the world through a Christian worldview.
Reading and Literacy Development
Our literacy program emphasizes phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, grammar, writing, and independent reading. Small-group instruction allows educators to address each student’s individual reading level and academic needs.
Mathematics
Students develop strong mathematical foundations through the Horizons Math curriculum. Instruction includes direct teaching, spiral review, problem-solving, hands-on practice, and real-world application.
Science, STEM, and Project-Based Learning
Students explore scientific concepts through observation, investigation, experiments, STEM activities, and project-based learning. These experiences encourage curiosity, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving.
History and Social Studies
Students study history, geography, government, citizenship, culture, and community while developing an understanding of God’s role throughout history and their responsibility to serve others.
Rhetoric and Communication
Students strengthen their public-speaking and communication skills through narration, retelling, discussion, presentations, and age-appropriate debates. These activities help students express their ideas clearly, confidently, and respectfully.
Spanish and Cultural Learning
Spanish instruction introduces students to vocabulary, conversation, language development, and cultural awareness, preparing them to communicate and interact in an increasingly diverse world.
Fine Arts and Enrichment
Dance, art, music, physical activity, and other enrichment opportunities support creativity, confidence, coordination, and the development of the whole child.
Personalized Small-Group Instruction
Our intentionally small class sizes allow teachers to provide individualized support, differentiated instruction, academic intervention, and enrichment based on each student’s strengths, needs, and learning pace.
Our small class sizes allow teachers to provide individualized attention, foster strong relationships, and create a nurturing environment where students are encouraged to grow in knowledge, wisdom, and character.
